  • Courses 50 and 70 hours (start: 10 October 2016)
  • Taught by a faculty degree in English philology and accredited with the Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) of Cambridge.

Intensive and dynamic sessions of 4 or 6 hours per week at the following times:

  • Monday (session 1): 11:30-13:30 or 16:30-18:30
  • Wednesday (session 2): 11:30-13:30
  • Thursday (session 2): 15:30-17:30
  • Friday (session 3): 11:30-13:30 or 18:00-20:00

Amounts: 210 euros/50 horas; 290 euros/70 hours (less than 4.5 euro the hour).

First session completely free and without any commitment.

Additionally, you can enable individual kinds of reinforcement for examination at the request of interested students or any level (amount: 10 EUR/hour).

Preparatory course for the entrance examination for over 25 years

The Entrance Examinations to the University for over 25 years were created to bring University education to those people who do not have the required academic qualification but want to start university studies.

The Escuela de Turismo de Santa Cruz de Tenerife wants to offer this opportunity to all those who are interested to continue studying. For this reason, it has organized a preparatory course for those interested. Being able to examine in the Centre of this test.

Legal foundations

Royal Decree 1892 / 2008 of 14 November, which regulates the entrance exam to the University of people older than 25 years (BOE number 283 on November 24, 2008).

Order 32/2006, of 9 January, the Minister of education, which regulates the entrance exam to the University of over 25 years within the scope of the universities of the community of Madrid (BOCM num. 23 on January 27, 2006).

Requirements

According to the 1892 RD / 2008 of 14 November (BOE No. 283 on November 24, 2008) and the order 32/2006, January 9 (27 B.O.C.M), requirements to sit the University entrance test for over 25 years are:

  • People over 25 years old, have access to official university education of grade by passing of an entrance examination. They can only attend this entrance examination, those who meet or have completed 25 years of age before October 1 of the calendar year in which such proof is held.

Documentation to deliver

To formalize the inscription on the entrance examination of over twenty-five years to the University, as well as fill out the tab of the student and staff of registration, as well as a photocopy of the identity card or passport.

Qualification test
The final grade will be determined by the arithmetic mean of the qualifications obtained in the overall phase and phase specific, qualified from 0 to 10, and expressed with two decimal, rounded to the nearest hundredth and if equidistance to top.

Means that the candidate has passed the test of access when you get at least five points in the qualifying final, not being able to, in any case, averaging when not obtain a minimum score of four points both on the general and in the specific phase.

Preparatory course for the entrance examination for over 45 years

Legal foundations

Royal Decree 1892 / 2008 of 14 November, which regulates the entrance exam to the University in those older than 45 years (BOE No. 283 of 24 November 2008).

Requirements

People over 45 years old who do not have an academic degree that will allow them to access the University nor can prove labor or professional experience have access to university studies by overcoming an adapted access test, that perform the aforementioned age before October 1 of the calendar year in which this test is held.

Deadline for registration

The deadline to enroll that gives access to the test is open throughout the year.

Documentation to deliver

To complete the registration in the test of over 45 years of age access to the University, must fill the tab of the student, as well as send a photocopy of the identity card or passport.

Structure of proofs

45 years or older entrance to the University is structured into 2 phases in accordance with the provisions of the Royal Decree 1892 / 2008 of 14 November:

Test: aims to appreciate the maturity and suitability of the candidates to follow successfully University studies, as well as his reasoning and expression. It shall consist of 2 exercises:

Personal interview: after passing the test, candidates must make a personal interview. The result of the interview you must rise a resolution suitable as a necessary condition for the subsequent favorable resolution of admission of the person concerned.

Qualification test

The final grade will be determined by the arithmetical average of the grades obtained in the exercises, rated from 0 to 10 and expressed with two decimal, rounded to the nearest hundredth and if equidistance to top. The candidate has passed the entrance exam, when you get a minimum of five points in the final, not being able to in no case grade average when not obtain a minimum score of four points in each fiscal year.

Objectives of studies

The objectives of this course are defined based on the characteristics and conditions of activity.
Its objectives are: respond to the training needs of existing facilitating knowledge of useful tools for decision making in the current context of tourism. Address essential aspects for the development of competitive advantages with respect to the product and destination. Generate specific specialization profiles covering both the needs of the business management and collective aspects and, in particular, the tourist exploitation of the natural and cultural resources management. Homogenize the transmission of knowledge in the field of tourism, avoiding fragmentation of the contents taught by excessive areas of knowledge. Create conditions for the development of research lines transdisciplinary, multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary.

In studies of tourism, its specificity lies in its multidisciplinary nature (economics, geography, law, history, political science, languages, computing, company, communication, etc.), multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary, which forces to act with knowledge of different Sciences, while the exercise of the profession is determined by the need to confront the problems of management of people, companies and institutions.

Methodology

The Escuela Universitaria de Turismo de Santa Cruz de Tenerife starts to respond to the current needs of citizens within the framework of the information society and is supported by the TIC´s (Inf technologies. and communication) for the development of its activities in the form of distance education.
Teaching in the school of tourism will take place according to the new criteria of the Bologna process, in small groups and with a very personalized attention to students. Through an optimal combination of theory and practice, the effective application of information technology, the study of cases and workshops, and research, the student will acquire practical skills, critical thinking, teamwork ability, initiative, creativity for the solution of problems and ability to innovate, that allows you to respond to ongoing changes in the market.
